Is 2h ok for transfer in BOM?
On my flight yesterday from HKG-BOM-BLR it took me a long time to transfer at BOM, especially that I need to check in my luggage again at BOM, which took a long time. Fortunately I had 5 hours for transfer.
However, I booked a returning ticket 9W2262-9W076, which is BLR-BOM-HKG. And 9W2262 is scheduled to arrive at 23:05 as 9W076 will leave at 01:05. I checked flightstats and it seems that BLR-BOM flights are notorious for being late. Should I change my flight to an earlier one? |
welcome to ft zig2....i don't think 2 hours would be enough....i would suggest taking an earlier flight....

two hours is definitely not enough to transfer in BOM. |
Oops, there are two alternatives on Jet Airways website. One arrives at 22:05 (9W442) and another arrives at 19:xx (9W2126). However it seems that 9W442 is notorious for being late, too. Does anyone know if I should change to 9W2126?

Are both sectors on the same PNR, I wonder...if they are, (a) how on earth did they manage that and (b) in that case 9W will have to shoulder the responsibility for any delays. If that works in your favour (a possible extra night in BOM), zig2, I say go for it and stick to the original plan with 2 hours connection.
In December 2009, I did MAA-BOM-SIN on 9W470-9W012, which had a 2h20m connection time in BOM. Though the flight left MAA on time, BOM arrival was a bit delayed due to traffic, yet I had a bit of time to go to the lounge in BOM International. I'd say it all depends on how much of delay the BLR-BOM flight USUALLY encounters. |

. But otherwise, I will go with advice given by Saad and take the earlier flight from Blr.. |
NO, I won't stay 1 night in BOM. I need the time.
Yes, it's the same PNR and my agent (the place I issued the ticket) didn't warn me about it. And it seems that BLR-BOM would possibly suffer from a long delay according to flightstats.

The question I would ask myself is whether I am ok to stay 1 night in BOM if needed necause of delay in the BLR - BOM flight.. But normally in the same PNR, the airline will warn you about the short connecting time .. If they hv happily issued the ticket, then its their problem and they will give u a hotel to stay till ur next flight to HKG which they will arrange..
