My best, awful story involves the traffic jam from hell in the late 90s. The 30 kilometers to the airport took seven hours - the last 30 minutes pushing my Padmini taxi through waist-high water. I still made my plane though. My flight's crew was stuck in the same jam. |

I was planning to do some driving in Mumbai when I visit this summer, but it sounds like I should just stick to walking. :) |

Check with your insurance provider before they do that. They'd probably quadruple your premiums.

LoL ! But too true. You're probably safer inside a slow-moving car than getting walking and possibly being run over !

Actually a few yrs ago an expat friend of mine was crossing the road in front of leela in BLR and was run over by a guy on a bicycle riding the wrong way. My friend was looking for traffic coming in the direction of travel but forgot to look both ways before crossing the road. :p
The guy on the bicycle did not brake/ stop or slow down. Except my buddy who was on all fours. |
