AI 747 catches fire @ BOM

Just tuned into NDTV (1050pm AEST), apparantly an AI 747 is on runway with fire fighting equipment surrounding the a/c, NDTV reporting 213 passengers on board, it's pretty blurry can any1 provide some more info ?

http://www.ndtv.com/news/images/stor.../planefire.jpg

checked ndtv.com
"There were 213 passengers on Air India's Mumbai-Riyadh flight when the engine of the Boeing 747 caught fire. The plane was preparing for take-off on the runway at the Mumbai airport when smoke began billowing out.

Emergency chutes allowed the passengers to slide down to safety. They were then led back to the terminal. Their flight will take off at 5.30 pm.

The government has ordered an inquiry, and an engineer has been suspended." Do the AI 747's fly to Riyadh ??

Probably just this month - It is the "Haj" time of the year, and they need all available seats.

At least the slides worked!

To jump from a 747 is a bit too far.

It is reported that the crew opened all emergency exits, including the ones on the side of the aircraft on fire.

So much for safety.

*A is out of their minds for accepting AI as a member.

I concur - unless there are sweeping changes implemented at the core (of AI).
