Jet Airways First Class award availability
I have seen a few comments regarding the difficulty of trying to hunt down First Class award availability on Jet Airways.
I was wondering if anyone was aware of any typical patterns for when it gets released and how many seats appear to come available when it does? |
Are you using AA miles?
You need the AAgent to find R class inventory. I booked exactly 330 days in advance and thank god, AA moved over to allowing one way award travel! I had to book outbound and inbound separately! 330 days in advance showed availibility but 329 days showed ZERO! plus you cant check on the Jet website by signing up to their FF program. IIRC, you need a minimum of 10K to make dummy bookings to check seats. Jet First Class is one of the best in the world and i would not hesistate in booking 11 months in advance again!!! heres a handy tool: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html |
When we called AA last fall about Jet First Class awards from BRU - BOM, we found availability for 2 award seats on literally every single day that we queried (January - February, 2009). Unfortunately Jet no longer offers First on that route.
What route are you are seeking, how many seats, in what season? |
Am I missing something?
I cant find any mention of Jet Airways AAdvantage Miles All-Partner Redemption on aa.com:confused: |

I'm not aware of any AA partner award that can be booked online ---- you need to call Aadvantage and they will advise you about availability.
As noted above, when we called (in fall 2008) there was no date that we were requesting that didn't have availability....(though there was indeed one time that we spoke to an Aagent that, like you, didn't know anything about the AA-9W partner relationship). |
This is probably the BOM-LHR segment right. AFAIK that is the only service that jet offers right now with a First Class cabin. All of the other plans are 2 class as they have wet leased them out to some Middle Eastern airline. Though, I spoke with a member of the crew on my trip last week and they said "Jet plans on bringing back the 777s soon as they see demand picking up for premium and ultra premium travel"

Jet are certainly an AA partner for redemption and I have spent some time on the phone with AA trying to find seats. I can often find one seat but never two, so I was more interested in any patterns for when seats tended to get released.
I'm looking to travel at the end of January, ideally to DEL but I'd get down to BOM if there were seats available too. For the Winter season it looks like there are two flights to BOM and one to DEL from LHR with the 77W with First Class. |
