AI 136 LAX-FRA-DEL Status of 77W?
I bought tickets (departing next week) more than a month ago, and the clincher was the fact that AI was supposed to operate a brand new 777 on this sector. However, it now shows up at 744 Is this just a marketing ploy by AI to get more people to buy tickets? It worked for me
Anyway, why aren't they running the 77W??

AI is experiencing an acute shortage of 777 pilots that has led to a number of aircraft being grounded. Some 777 routes (eg. CCU-LHR) have been cancelled altogether, and others (eg. BOM-LHR, DEL-FRA-LAX) are being operated by the 747s or A330s instead.

Foreign co-pilots
Is the limit on using foreign co-pilots from June 1, valid for 777s as well? It seems such a waste to invest in leases and purchases of wide body and not fly them during pne of the peak wide body flying periods (summer).

Does anyone know how long this pilot shortage is expected to last? Weeks? Months?
My flight at the end of July is still showing 77W. I'd hate to have that change into a 747.
