9W JP program questions
The 9W website doesn't provide clear information on the benefits for elite members. It's a kluge at best. A simple comparitive chart between the levels would probably do the trick. I would appreciate fellow flytalkers experiences on the following questions.

If that flight from JFK is about the only time you'll be coming to India, you can just credit the miles to your AA account. You might not get EQMs unless its booked as an AA codeshare, with an AA flight number, though.
9W business is very nice, lieflat herringbone.

[*]I am switching from AA/BA because a consolidator is giving me $5500 fare JFK-MAA roundtrip in I class even at the very last mnute, which works well with my schedule. I am platinum on AA, I read on this site that 9W doesn't match status. It's OK given the savings in fare. [*]How does 9W business compare to BA? I love BA club world, I won't miss AA business class because its bare bones.

I make 4-6 trips a year to India. Until now it was on AA/BA. Switching to 9W for the price and not having to connect through LHR.

If you fly paid J you get just about all that a regular elite gets, I would say. See if you can book 9W under the AA codeshare flight number - you earn AA EQMs that way. http://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do?...jetAirways.jsp |

How does the "fast track" work. I saw info on the the 9W website a few weeks ago, can't find it anymore. I think one had to reach x miles in a rolling 6 month window.

How many upgrade certificates do we get when you reach gold or platinum level, are they systemwide upgrades or do I need to use a whole bunch for a single JFK-DEL flight based on the number of miles?

As for more upgrades, the 9W site states that we get certificates from time to time. What does this mean?

It looks like 9W does not have household accounts - am I correct - I will be flying with family in coach in August.
Welcome to FT, btw! :) PS: Would you mind sharing the info on the consolidator via PM or EM? TIA! |
i sent you an email with the travel agent info.
the following text is from 9w website. Complimentary Upgrade Vouchers When travelling on an Economy or Premiere booking on eligible fares, JetPrivilege members can enjoy a complimentary upgrade to Premiere or First Class respectively by using their upgrade voucher. These vouchers are sent by JetPrivilege to its members from time to time, depending on their tier status, and to JACC cardholders when they reach the spend threshold on their JACC cards - 8000 JPMiles for Platinum, 10,000 JPMiles for Gold and CitiBusiness respectively. |

I haven't received any intermediate vouchers, as they state, so don't count on it, unless you are on their planes *daily*, I guess! However, they just reduced voucher earning miles, which used to be every 4,000 JP miles earned (4 miles per Rs. 100/- charged), and is now 1 voucher per 8,000 JP miles earned (4 miles per Rs. 100/- charged). Since you need so much spending *just* to get a voucher, plus you need so many vouchers to upgrade, I have shifted my spending to another cc on a *A partner, which gives me 3 miles per Rs. 100/-, but *still* is a better value, if you consider international upgrades! |
I dont have their credit card. Don't plan to get one either. That probably means no upgrade certificates other than what I get when I reach gold and platinum status. I should reach both by August since I have 3 I class round trips planned.
