9W status match?

Hello all,

I've been considering switching over my flying to 9W for a while. I usually fly to NYC, LON, BKK, HKG (other places in Europe sometimes, which I guess 9W and Brussels Airlines would work well) and Jet's started flying to all of these which makes it all quite convenient.

Frankly, I'm also feeling kind of 'done' dealing with BA's and LHR's spectacular messes, and CX's awful timing out of BOM.

What I wanted to ask is if there's any way that 9W would do a status match. I have BA Emerald, CX Sapphire (and if it helps 9W Citibank Platinum).

Cheers

I highly doubt that they would status-match - I think one FT'er tried this, and was rebuffed politely but firmly.

Do let us know if they indeed allow you! ^

Earn and burn on 9W's program tend to suck very bad indeed.

You might be better off crediting to something like AA (if AA gives you EQMs for 9W, not sure)

*Still*, even if no EQM's for AA, the miles are *much* more valuable than 9w's miles....

Thanks for the info guys...

I'm not way too concerned about the award miles for now, since my credit card spending is decent enough and converted to the program.

I just wanted to be a level or two higher than the lowly blue that I've been for the past few years

By the way, I'm taking my first intl 9W flight (BOM-BKK) this month. Any tips on what I can expect? I'm assuming the plane won't be the long-haul seats of course, but does is it the revamped J with AVOD, etc?

It isn't specified yet, according to the GDS's, but it looks like they might put on the A332....but leaving the possibility open to fly 73w (737 winglets with AVOD, semi-recliners). In C, it's quite comfortable, actually! ^ (and you face forward, rather than to the sides, ala A332 herringbone!)
