e- or paper ticket on Jet Airways?

I have an award ticket on Jet Airways BKK/DEL r/t. Does anyone know if Jet Airways accepts the e-ticket issued through NW Worldperks or do I need a separate paper ticket?

Also, I got a biz seat to DEL but only coach was open back to BKK. Since this is an overnight flight can someone tell me what Jet Airway's coach seats are like?

If NW issued an eticket, then Jet obviously accepts it on those sectors. Why would you need a separate paper ticket?

You'll need a printout of the eticket receipt in order to get into the airport terminal, but thats about it.

Because last month NW issued me an e-ticket on CZ. CZ would not accept the e-ticket in SHA and made me pay for a paper ticket in order to board. Then CZ changed all my remaining tickets (all ticketed as e-tickets) to paper tickets for the rest of my flights, even on NW. Of couse, I didn't have the paper tickets; I only had e-tickets because that's what NW issued to me.

I don't want this to happen again in BKK and DEL.

Why don't you call NW WP directly then, explain what happened the last time, and ask them their advice.

Further, you can also call the Jet Airways call center in the USA: "1-877-uflyjet (1-877-835-9538)", and ask them whether they see your sectors, and whether the e-ticket is fine to travel.

Thank you very much for the helpful advice.

Now, what do you think of their coach seats for an overnight flight DEL-BKK? Or maybe you always travel up front :D !

Old 737 (SIN-BOM) had limited legroom - but this was *before* 9w reportedly "took out a row for greater comfort", which is evident on domestic 737 flights now...only fly 9w international in an emergency.....limited miles on low fares, would rather fly *A!

9W is quite good at etickets, and in fact prefers them .. paper tix are issued in very rare cases as a last resort.

As for CZ, like quite a few chinese airlines they just can't seem to wrap their minds around the idea of etix. And then there's other fun issues like this one, once you board - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=631870

Dont compare a class act like 9W (or IT) to some tinpot chinese airline .. hell, even IC does etix just fine, though they have a long, long history of doing paper tickets when everybody else was doing etix.

Thanks...good to know that Jet Airways prefers e tix. I agree with you about CZ; I for the life of me don't understand how they ever got into Skyteam. I flew them first class CAN-HKG. Granted it's only a 50 minute flight. But all we got was a bag of peanuts and a bottle of water. Then the two flight attendants went to the front galley and pulled the curtain shut. Strange, I thought. When I went to the bathroom I understood why they pulled the curtain shut....they were busy reading those Hong Kong soap opera magazines and didn't want to be bothered. Hell, even NW will serve snacks and alcohol on a 50 minute flight in first class.

Well, I once caught a couple of FAs on the verge of joining the mile high club - a smear of lipstick, four or five buttons undone on the lady FA's blouse etc.

Entirely by accident I assure you .. it was very late at night and I had to pee. I wear comfortable rubber soled shoes on board planes so they probably didn't hear me coming.

Then there were these two TG FAs gossiping *loudly* in the galley between C and Y on a two class A330 BKK-MAA earlier today when I was on the flight .. but to be fair, that was on their own time, and meal / drink etc services were prompt and courteous, as is usual on TG.

.

I still don't understand why 9W still does not offer etix to certain destinations like COK, when all others offer it.

hserus Dec 9, 2007 9:30 pm

All 9W destinations except for KTM and COK are etix destinations. Chances are they dont have ground handling run by 9W in those two places, and its outsourced to some really old carrier like IC/AI .. the same reason that makes TG keep issuing paper tix to MAA.

Interesting didnt know that etix depended on ground handling. Always wondered why TG had etix from BKK to Indian destinations but not the other way around.

hserus Dec 10, 2007 6:51 am

Umm.. BKK to some Indian destinations (say MAA) or those destinations to BKK are both paper tix. Their ground handling, ticketing etc are outsourced to AI in MAA - and the guy in the TG office at MAA told me that was the reason they were still on paper tix rather than etix for MAA.

In fact if theres one place on your itinerary thats not an etix destination, it seems to become paper for the whole ticket.
