air india ORD - LHR - first class

I am just about to buy 2 first class tickets from ORD - LHR on Air India (great buy 1 get 1 deal going on right now) - however - I am getting mixed reviews. Some people talk about incredible first class "pods" while other people tell horror stories of 15 year old interiors. It appears they fly relatively old 747's and 777's - can anyone comment on whether the cabins have all been upgraded or if this is a roll of the dice? Has anyone experienced the "new" air india post merger. Thanks in advnace

Better to ask in the "other Asian" forum.

You do know you have posted in the Lufthansa German Airlines Miles&More forum ? This has absolutely nothing to do with Air India whatsoever...

But to answer your question: Air India have been known to..

a.) suffer from major delays (but never more then 50 hours)

and

b.) serve a good curry on board !

Since AI service is discussed extensively in the OAASP FFP forum, I moved it there.
