Baggage allowance for mixed class itinerary

Hello, one question on baggage allowance for mixed class itinerary on Air India. I booked AI flight, using Aeroplan miles, for my mom, from PAT-DEL-JFK.
PAT-DEL segment is in economy and DEL-JFK segment in business.

I am wondering what would be the baggage allowance (mainly max weight of the baggage). I can see 2 bags allowed, upto 32KG each for business class but its 23KG for economy. And the ticket email doesn't mention the actual bags weight allowed for the ticket.
I am thinking that 32KG weight should be allowed since significant portion is in business class but when I asked Air India reps, they seems clueless and just saying that allowance is 23KG from PAT-DEL and 32KG from DEL-JFK, not sure how that works since the bags will be checked thru to JFK I believe.
Anyone knows how much will be baggage allowance in this case?

Assuming it is a single ticket... i.e. all on one PNR - 2 x 32kgs.

I've taken a number of flights on AI where the domestic sector has been in Economy followed by the international sector in Business. For single PNR tickets the luggage allowance for the domestic Economy sector has always been the same as the international Business sector.

Hi, just to revive this thread. I have a mixed award through aero plan with del to ewr in business but both air India and air Canada are only showing 2x50lbs

The stated luggage allowance is wrong many times when you have IATA or USDoT rules that the ticket is not properly able to apply. At the same time... for peace of mind... I would suggest you get a written confirmation from AI. I assume you have a route like BOM(XXX)-DEL in Y & DEL-EWR in J.

Yeah the route is HYD-DEL-EWR all under one ticket

USDoT applies to flights to the US right? In which case it's technically correct.... but all carriers follow IATA MSC rules... you should be ok.... but getting a confirmation would be good.
