EC261 on AI

Hi,

I recently flew LHR-DEL on AI, and the flight was 3h45 delayed on arrival at the gate "due to late arrival of inbound aircraft". So, doesn't qualify for the "big" compensation (€600 for a 4 hour delay).

Two part question:
  • I've seen a number of references that a 3-4 hour delay qualifies for a €300 compensation (I'd link, but first post...), but I can't find a reference to this being the case in any official documentation, including the UK CAA's website and crucially, the regulation itself. Does anyone know where this rule is actually defined? I'd like to make sure I've done my homework before filing a claim.
  • Does anyone have any experience actually claiming EC261 compensation from AI?
Thanks,
Martin

You’re entitled to €300. https://www.caa.co.uk/Passengers/Res...-compensation/

Claiming from AI is another matter. Fill up the form - Feedback - Air India and hope for the best.

Thanks for that! I've sent off the claim, we'll see what happens.

its going to be a very long & frustrating wait....they took over 9 months to settle my most recent claim regarding a broken seat in business class on a fco-del flight....

Wait, you mean I can claim for the cabin only barely holding together under the duct tape?

if it were only that simple....my seat broke 15 minutes after take off & swayed every time there was turbulence....also, i was in a awkward recline position for the duration of the flight....if only i had duct tape to fix it....

AI does pay up, in this case after 9 months: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/72360220.cms
