Question on who can help me in case of IROPS?
 
I am flying on Vistara flight from LKO-DEL-BOM today (3rd Nov) . My flight from LKO-DEL is delayed for 2 hours (will be delayed further) and now it is likely that I will miss my connection to BOM and this is last flight of the day. Flight was booked using SQ miles in premium economy.

When I called Vistara to make alternate arrangements for me, they told to contact SQ to make changes to my ticket. I tried to argue that in case of IROPS, it is responsibility of operating carrier to provide alternate arrangements but the Vistara agent kept on repeating that since tickets are issued by SQ, I will have call SQ to make the changes.

Is he right that I have to call SQ? Shouldn't this be done by Vistara since they are the operating carrier?

Yes they're right. Since you bought the ticket through SQ they're responsible for any rerouting.

sq should be able to re-book you pretty easily but you will need to call them....

Thanks for the response. I was able to
make to the BOM flight. We landed in DEL at 9:15PM but was transferred to BOM flight gate by car which was scheduled to take off at 9:40PM.

Rerouting due to IRROPS is supposed to be handled by the operating airline. Glad the connection worked out.
