Not a good sign at all. Hopefully the Tatas & SIA are committed for the long long haul.

Everybody is looking to making wild profits this year in the post 9W era. :)

I guess, Vistara is eyeing on a decent domestic network which will feed into their hubs for foreign routes. They are playing the same game like Jet, but not sure if they are succeeding yet. The real money is to be made in foreign markets with their Y+ and J offering.

COO quit this week: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/72809388.cms

Really curious if they can sustain this rapid growth. This can become Jet 2.0

- Started out with a uniform fleet and high service standard
- Aquired assets and crew from an airline that went bk
- Started international network with narrow bodies and placed order for widebodies

As I see it, the Indian economy is probably worse than the government-touted numbers are meant to suggest. So of course Vistara struggling in India and having management casualties isn't a surprise to me.

And given what is going on in India on so many levels, I would be surprised if the Indian economy rallies in a massive way anytime very soon so as to make life much easier for India's bigger airlines. I am expecting that anyone willing to invest big money in the Indian airline sector for any long-term period at this point is a glutton for losses in the here and now and for quite some time to come.

The Indian government's attempt to privatize Air India is going to be amusing to watch and has lessons of sort for Vistara too. And as it's an increasingly dangerous time to be a long-term FDI investor in India, maybe Vistara should look for hand-outs from "investors" that aren't investing as much as trying to tie up for strategic ends that go beyond mere business.

The industry saw overall massive growth the past few years, but revenue in the sector is relatively dire.

Vistara is no longer being cool on TAs doing tricks and reminded everyone of their ADM policy, i.e. the flexibilty to gain market share is limited.

different topic - but related to Vistara.. anyone has a clue whats up with their dreamliner use (VT-TSD) ?
They started using it once a day for DEL-BOM-DEL.. i booked a friend on it and they changed the darn aircraft.. then they started using it for DEL-BLR-DEL, but apparently they have stopped that too..
i really want to fly on this aircraft, asap :(

I don't think you can predict where/when the 787 is flying. As you experienced it will be subject to equipment swaps since it's not supposed to be flying these DOM routes. They're just flying it right now to keep the plane and pilots in shape.

It's flown to BOM, BLR, HYD & CCU in the past.

I too booked it BLR-DEL for 9th August as it had 787.. then they changed equipment and time of flight too! just no way to predict.. if they get some VBM europe route - they will use i guess..

I think they will need to get another plane or two before they can efficiently fly these on VBM missions to EU.

There were a few reports that UK was delaying the A321neos and the 787 this year. But they have taken delivery of the 321 recently.

The 787 was spotted doing test runs... but there was no announcement of the actual delivery.

It seems that UK used the the pandemic to get out of the lease agreements they had for the ex 9W B738s. Curious what equipment they will use to fly to SIN etc when the traffic reopens.
