Open tickets in India
Hi guys..
A friend of mine requires 3 open tickets for her family members.. they need to travel BOM-CCU-BOM but the dates are not finalized and they basically want to guard themselves against last minute high flight prices.. i looked through AI, Jet, Indigo, Spice, but couldn't find anything to this effect..
Any advice ?

I usually just book 2 or 3 nonrefundable (cheapest possible) tickets on potential dates.. Typically works out cheaper than getting a refundable/changeable ticket or a last minute walkup.

There is no way to guard against this currently. Both strategies (cheapest non-refundable or refundable) involve a high amount of risk.
Depending on the certainty to fly on a date and the season I’d buy as soon as I had some suriety on the date of travel.
Just to confuse OP.

Buy (anything!) from 9W at your own risk. Especially if not very near term.
