Fog in delhi

I have an early morning flight from delhi departing at 6am in the next days. I have heard that usually flight delays due to fog start after 7am in delhi. Would 6am departure be safe considering previous years situations?

That said most airlines operating out of DEL have Cat IIIb nowadays... last year I took a flight out of DEL on an AI 788 and there was no visibility to speak of. I was amazd they were allowed to take off.

"Fog"? You mean pollution?
In China they call it actually what it is. I don't know why in India they pretend it is fog.

doesn't matter what you call it....its prevalent this time of the year & causes lots of flight delays early in the morning....

The METAR and TAF calls it smoke, haze and fog:

It seems the visibility improves with the morning sun. If it's above 200m cat iiib can operate.
