Air India locked out my account
 

Air India flying returns have locked out my account. When I signed up I did not had to furnish any additional information but it seems their have changed their website and now to access my account, book any tickets or even check my miles I have to furnish all this information. Obviously I am hesitant to fill out all this information and send them scanned copies of my passport. The 2nd page asks for more information regarding contact information and checking subscriptions to all kinds of communication newsletter which is mandatory.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure this isn't a scam page? I can't imagine sending anybody all that information. Probably better asked on the Air India page. I'll ask a mod to move it.

Air India implemented the additional security measures for accounts a while back. If you haven't checked your account for 1.5-2 years, then yes you need to fill out all the details and send them your ID for them to unlock the account.

It was done to stop the illegitimate redemptions they found out, whereby a person could operate multiple accounts and redeem miles from any of them without the original owner ever finding out.

This is their KYC scheme... :(

this has been in place since the beginning of last year....its not ideal but unfortunately there is no way around it....
