9W plat - which airlines will status match this
 

I have been a 9W plat for 6/7 years now but am more and more disillusioned with them these days. Given how easy it is to become/retain plat with them now, I am in a position to shift a significant portion of my business (esp international travel) away from them, without losing my status with them.

Does anyone know which airlines would status match 9W plat? I'm open to any of the 3 larger alliances with a slight preference to OW due to my flying patterns.

I don't know if any status match programs are going on right now but maybe there's a group here on FT for that.

AB used to be the best bet on OW. Based on my limited knowledge you should try IB (they had a recent challenge for AB & LH and some other unspecified airlines) and JL. You can also try AA but they rarely status match with non US airlines. TK (*G) has a fairly aggressive status match program as did AZ (Skyteam) at one point.

Of course make sure you time your status match to be able to meet the challenges that most programs have.

i'm not sure if any airline outside india would give you a status match....

many years ago i tried matching my 9w plat status with a bunch of airlines like delta, united & ba but none of them offered a match with an indian based airline....

this was a number of years ago so i don't know if the situation has changed....
