Early entry into BOM international terminal

How soon before a flight can a passenger enter the Airport? I believe that before you could enter the terminal only three hours before your flight. This particular case is for a CX flight to HKG.
Thank you for your assistance.

I have been able to enter the terminal 6 hours before my flight time.

However, depending on the time of day, the counters may not be open, and you would have to wait with your luggage until they open.

Yes, I've done six hours as well. And yes, note the counters might only open four or so hours before departure time.

they will let you in 4 hours before your flight without any questions....anything more than that depends on the person checking your ticket at the entrance....i've managed to get into the airport up to 6 hours before my flight a few times but have always had to explain to the security personal why i'm there early....

In my experience, 4 hours is enforced pretty strictly unless connecting from another flight.

I once connected from SQ424 to ET611 which is about a 7 hour connection and and had to collect and recheck bags. I was allowed to enter the check-in area and waited at an eatery till the check in staff showed up, about 4 hours before departure.

I've entered 5 hours before an international connection. There's also a new food court / restaurant outside the terminal incase you don't get in and want to kill a couple of hours.

I have entered 6 hours before. Yesterday, I entered 5 hours before departure. They now have Burger King, Starbucks outside the terminal. I think next time, that is what I will do - head to Starbucks. The cafes near the check-in counters are sad. Coffee & Tea sucks.
