JetPrivilege launches Rewards Program
So Jet has launched a rewards program where you can buy all sorts of stuff like bags , travel accessories , electronics including Apple products.. in lieu of JP miles. WHile i saw a few products I observed it is giving vale of 0.25 paise per mile which in my opinion is pretty low. However I have calculated this based only on a few products . There might be some good deals out there.
ALso I haven't been able to understand Jet's point of view. I guess it just wants people to shop and 'waste' their miles so as to reduce its burden. Anyways lets hope it is a good program . |

That's exactly their point of view !
This is the global plan of all airlines. Sell miles at crazy prices and make u redeem them for peanuts. |
in my opinion its a waste of miles....but then again, i'm sure some people will get some benefit out of it....people who have miles expiring or don't travel often enough are probably going to use this feature....

Might be useful when a big chunk of your miles are getting expired, otherwise the value one gets from "rewards" is abysmally poor.
|
I know it's unrelated but I want to share a story.
I got to know only today that one of my co-worker redeemed 70,000 Marriott points for a Fitbit. I guess there are a lot of people who will waste the points for these super low value redemptions and that's exactly what Jet wants. |

This is my current situation - 5K miles from a trip quite a while back, expiring tomorrow. Anything more useful than an Amazon voucher? It's denominated in INR, will I be able to redeem it in a US-based account?
|
So is there anything a person from the US can do with expiring Jet miles?
