Delta partner awards from India

Has anyone used DL.com to book Delta partner airline awards out of India? Well, I'm sure many have but I'm seeing lots of availability in business India-Europe (through CDG) pretty much through the rest of the year for 85,000 miles plus about $110 in taxes and was wondering if it is too good to be true.

AF does have very good availability out of India, not too good to be true.

I'm not sure if it's still the case since Delta changes their award miles requirement so frequently but I booked MAA-LAX on Saudia for 70k Delta miles in Business 6 months ago. But I think AF might be worth the extra miles since SV was an angled flat seat. AF has a nice fully flat reverse herringbone on some transatlantic flights.

Did you book this online or over the phone? Reason I ask is that I rarely see any flights available on SV when I look.

I used this site to book award ticket using delta miles. From India two airlines offer award tickets without charging Fuel Surcharge - Delta & Qatar. I used delta miles to travel to spain , taxes comes to appx 10000/- Inr appx.

Many airlines don't charge fuel surcharge on awards, both United & American will issue award tickets on partners to/from India without Fuel Surcharge; and so will Jet and Air India on own metal.

Yes united & AA do not charge fuel surcharge on partner from/to India. Regarding Jet & Air india I was not aware. Does it mean That Jet & air India Gold & Plat members not to pay fuel surcharge on award tickets?

For flights on own metal, neither charges you YQ extra. You don't have to be elite member for that.

AI announced that it will stop accruing YQ on partner redemptions as well, though I have no idea if its properly implemented or not by now.

If you redeem Jet / Air India ffp miles for redemptions on their flights then no YQ is charged since they have increased the miles to factor in that cost.

Own metal in this context means when they issue the ticket for flights on their aircraft .

What's the best way to check availability on QR? I remember reading somewhere that you could do it on ba.com but from a quick look I can't figure it out.

Indeed on BA... You have to create an Executive Club account before you can search for awards.

You can check it on british airways website.Youl do it segment wise. If need to check for DEL-CDG-DEL. U check for Delhi to doha , Then Doha to CDG & similarly in return. You Opt for flights without stopover.

I do have an Exec Club account (with no miles in it) but I suspect I'm making an elementary mistake somewhere because I can't find how to check for QR/other partner availability. I'm using the Book awards with Avios page - https://www.britishairways.com/trave..._in?eId=106019
which does not mention partner awards. And the Reward Flight Finder page says that it searches BA flights only - https://www.britishairways.com/trave..._in?eId=100001
