Flights between DEL and Allahabad
My wife and mother-in-law will wish to take a one day trip from Delhi to Allahabad and back- sometime in mid-March.
What are the best options for airlines. What should they expect in terms of service and cost? They will want to fly in the economy cabin; of note, my wife has Star Alliance Gold status through Air Canada. |

The options to go and come back are on one of the following days: Mar 12 or Mar 13 or March 14 or Mar 15.
They wish to go to Allahabad in the morning, see some relatives (but not stay overnight in that city), and then come back in the evening. |

I have flown this route a few times. Used to be a CRJ then, but I am told its an ATR72 now.
The CRJ's used to be a pain because of the limited space in overhead baggage lockers which wouldnt hold my camera kit. The new ATR's are much better in this regard. On the downside, dont know if their new ATR72 have the hot-pots, so no coffee-tea service. Their ATR42's didnt and nor do Jet's ATR's. This is what we were served on my last few flights - Sandwich/Veg Puff with Coffee/Tea service. With longer flight times on the ATR and a noon departure, you might get a full lunch. Has never been a paid meal in the 4/5 times I took this route. |
