How does Jet Airways upgrade your Status?

I went through their documentation and I am confused. Suppose I have never flown Jet with a revenue ticket, but use JP Miles for travel, will I ever get a status upgrade?. If I want a Gold Status, is it enough if I transfer 50000 points (1:1 ratio), or should I have also earned 30 Tier Points?

The Miles you transfer won't count for status upgrades. Also for upgrades you need to earn both miles and tier points.

any redemption flight does NOT count towards flights(or tier points) towards status.

miles flown OR tier points count towards upgrading your status.

the key point here is OR... u can get choose any one to focus on to upgrade your status.

for example: MUM-CLB sector is a 2 hour flight, but cause its international and if you fly business (i,P Class) u can gain 2 tier points per sector. or 15 round trips to get from blue to plat.

after #paag correction:
MUM-CLB sector is a 2 hour flight, but cause its international and if you fly business (i,P Class) u can gain 3 tier points per sector. or 10 round trips to get from blue to plat.

and I believe transferring miles do NOT count for qualifying miles or "tier JP miles". this can only be earned via revenue tickets on jet or its partner airlines.

P on INT would give you 3 tier points.

you have to earn either the miles or tier points by flying on revenue tickets....transferring miles or award tickets will not get you status....

status is meant to recognise passengers who bring in the moolah. hence, only revenue tickets ever qualify for counting for status

CLB airport ?

Did you mean MUM CMB (Colombo) ?

CLB seems to be an airport called the Castlebar Airport , near Dublin Ireland. Surely That's not a 2 hour flight from Mumbai ? :p
