Status match
 
I am a United 1K member and will be working out of BOM for the next few years. My travel should be about 8-10 trips to USA and also lot of domestic travel in India every year and was wondering if Jet Airways or even Air India would offer a status match to their top tier status.

In my experience Jet and Air India aren't gaga over status matches so dont expect any. If you are travelling by Jet you may very try status matching to Etihad Gold that will get you the privileges while flying Jet.

Considering UA is a *A member - you already have *A gold status. Good for lounge access etc.

For Jet - you could get Etihad Gold probably through status match.

AI has a status match offer for their Co-branded card users (only the Visa Signature varient), and also a spend based Tier benefit for the same card.

there is no official policy on status matches....you can get in touch with both & try your luck but i wouldn't be surprised if they simply refused....
