How many Jet PLT, GLD, SLVs?

Does anyone know (or have a reasonable estimate) for how many people are enrolled into the Jet Privilege program and how many at each tier - Plat, Gold, Silver (and Blue Plus/Blue)?

not sure if info like this is public....would be interesting to know though....

From what know, all this info is mostly never shared openly in the press..
Maybe some hints can be found of the loyalty program growth rates in their annual reports which they need to make public ( as they are publicly listed) in India ?

Jet setting up a marketing services co !

I looked online at the 9W annual report for 2012..
http://www.jetairways.com/doc/Invest...s/JAR_2012.pdf

Item 9 in page 16 states :-

"The loyalty industry is evolving in India. Your Company proposes to leverage this evolving business opportunity by setting up a marketing services company engaged in the business of managing reward points and loyalty programs for its program partners.
Initially, the marketing services company will be a 100% subsidiary company. As and when negotiations with the potential knowledge partners crystallize into a concrete decision, it is proposed that some percentage of the Company’s stake be offered to the knowledge partners.
Your Company currently runs a frequent flyer programme, the JetPrivilege programme, through which members can earn and redeem JPMiles. The JetPrivilege programme is managed and operated in-house. Your Company proposes to transfer the JetPrivilege programme to the marketing services company and in the process transform the JetPrivilege programme
into a larger retail-based coalition loyalty program and through its operations unlock greater commercial value.

Is there a way we could do a quick survey here and extrapolate the results..???

Would be interesting to see what the survey yields. Some possible indicators to size this:

1. Total revenue passengers in 2012 - 17.3 million (up from 14.7 million in 2011). Making some very simplistic (and likely stupid) assumption that 5-10% of "new" passengers enroll into the program and a higher percentage (possible 15-20%) of the "old" ones enroll - I'd venture a guess that the number is between 2 and 3 million

2. Lufthansa has 20+ million members in its program (should be more; this was announced in 2011) while it flies nearly 90 million passenger every year. Assuming same "propensity to enroll into the FFP" for Lufthansa and Jet, Jet Privilege members should be closer to 3.8 million. But if I had to guess, I'd think awareness/attractiveness for the Jet frequent flyer program is lower (awareness leading to lower new enrollments and attractiveness leading to more people banking miles on other preferred airlines) - the ratio of passengers flown to FFP members should be lower for Jet, again bring it down towards the 3 mil number (rather than 4).

Going through the annual report, there is another interesting thing that one could calculate - How much is the value of a Jet mile to Jet itself? (using data from Passenger kilometers flown and provisions for frequent flyer miles made annually). It's likely to be lower than how much we do (0.23 to 1.08 from other thread on value of a mile) - that should be another survey we should do :)

Probably not. There would be a significant upward skew considering that we are all on FT, and that probably isn't because we're flying a couple times a year.

No to extrapolation? But why? ;)

And just a couple of times a year? I thought 50-60 flights (that one remembers, plus all those that were forgotten) was the norm.
