flying to lhr

I need to get to lhr from singapore and will love to try AI.

I hear that if you take away the no shows, strikes and other nuisances, AI is a pretty good airline.

Is this an airline worth considering or am I a sucker for punishment?:)

I have gone into their website and for the life of me, its just not cooperating.

Should I use a travel agent instead? please feedback chaps.

business or premium econ will be my choices..but i want to give it a go wih AI, might even do economy

I would recommend UL as they have an attractive fare-1853 SGD as a base for Z class.
Stopover in CMB also permitted (so you can reduce APD on the way out)

no premium economy on ai....if you are so keen on punishing yourself then i would suggest doing it in business....once onboard the experience is pretty decent....

also, book using a ta....its a pain to deal with ai directly....

AI 115 will be downgraded (capacity-wise) to Dreamliner when VT-ANL is delivered, so I'd try to aim for that flight if I were you...

Anything to do with AIs plans for the 787, I'd take with a massive pinch of salt.

I would also consider SQ (although they're probably not very cheap being a hub captive)

I flew SIN-BOM-LHR on 9W last year and had a great experience. The times were also quite convenient- only a 3 hour layover in BOM.

Guys,

flown with sq, ul, and most other major carriers.

In a sense, yes, it seems like I have a death wish, but sometimes you just want to see whats out there, and I have to admit, those who have made onto an AI flight which actually took off mention having a pretty good service.

and yes, going to go thru a TA as the AI site is as useful as a banana in a gunfight.

happy new year everyone

Please post a trip report once you've flown :)

Transit in BOM isn't the most convenient though.
(Then again, I've only had 1 experience with this and the rest I have actually had to enter the city.)

Jet *used* to have good deals via BOM/DEL/MAA ex-SIN, but last time I checked (a year or 1.5 years ago), they ramped up prices quite high - and the fact that most J cabins are full ex-India doesn't help getting a decent price in biz - combined with the fact that MAA-BRU is now extinct!
