The flight attendant on our DEL-TRV-MLE flight did say something about AI trying these seats "for now" but it wasn't really clear what he meant.
I will fly MLE-TRV-DEL in May 2018 - hopefully things change by then and we get a real business class seat for such a long flight.

DEL-MCT is on the list too. That doesn't seem very competitive.

Hi guys. I'm supposed to fly to BBI next month with Air India. Since the direct flight was working out too expensive, I chose to do BOM-HYD/HYD-BBI on AI615 (A319) and AI780 (A321). I wanted to check if anyone flown these routes recently, and if you could comment on how exactly does the business class look like on these segments. Planning to upgrade, but don't want to be in the Economy converted to business class.

Edit: I know the A321 has Business Class for sure. I am curious about the A319

It seems so random how they are switching aircraft. I have a BLR-GOI this week in business class (AI is the only full-service carrier offering nonstops on this route) and was thinking exactly the same thing!

i don't think there is anyway to be sure....i normally take an evening flight between del-bbi & have come across both the regular & the 'new' business class on this route on different days....

Agree. I guess the only (probably tedious) way may be to track the FIN numbers and see which of the 319's are "Euro-Biz" and which are regular business class, and then try and map that with the booked flight... Not even sure if that is publicly available for AI, or as to how long before departure they confirm this...

No real pattern to be seen. VT-EXA for example has been all over the place: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/vt-exa

Guess none of the 319s have so called "Euro Biz" - It is only 320s which have them! Plus BOM-HYD sector is typically served only by 319s - "Baby buses" of AI so there would be a proper J seats along with full J offerings - rather than pathetic middle blocks!

AA - Go ahead and upgrade yourself!

FWIW, my BLR GOI 319 had proper biz seats. 2 rows of 2x2. But that was about it as far as the "product" was concerned.

Horrible service, missing catering, and no effort in maintaining the sanctity of the separating cabin curtain, even when trying to ensure biz pax can disembark first.

Thanks mate. But decided to slum it out in Economy. First flight is an hour long, and the second one is 1.35 gate to gate. And a long layover in Hyderabad. Enough to ensure I'll get my fill of coffee in Terminal 2 Mumbai in the morning and Plaza lounge in the afternoon!

argh, it seems the 'block middle seat, call it business' concept is not so widespread. AI just swapped my AI23 feeder from A321 with proper C to A320 all Y config next week:

Code:
TN18DECCCUDEL/AAI

 4 AI 023 X2 CCU 2 DEL 3 2030 2245 0 20DEC17 32B 2:15
 5 AI 023 12 CCU 2 DEL 3 2030 2245 0 11DEC17 19DEC17 320 2:15
My ticket has been duly changed to Y for that feeder. Lets hope I can get to the airport early enough and get rebooked to AI 701...

Has anyone here flown on the A320neo? Is there any trip report out there for this bird in business class?
