Tools (Apps) to track Trips

What are you using to keep track of the itineraries / Hotel Bookings etc.

In US, I've used Tripit. It was easy to use and will give updates when there is change in Flight timings / Gate etc.

Back in India, I tried it, but the automatic addition of trips is a hit and miss. Few flights are not identified from the booking details, Trips are not monitored etc.

I have also tried Blackberry travel App. A little better - but not ideal.

So folks who travel on a weekly basis, what is your preferred travel app in india?

I use Worldmate - they support several Indian airlines and some TA websites as well. You can see the supported list on their website.

Their support is also decent, I've managed to get them to successfully add some missing ones in the past - so even if yours isn't supported, I'd say you can try your luck with emailing them (they took a week or two to add a new provider).

Edit - I use the free version, which doesn't alert you of schedule changes etc, so can't comment on how effective that is. The overall UI is quite nice though.

tripit can't process regional variants of booking confirmations, I usually display the booking in amadeus, sabre, gallileo's website and mail it to tripit from the website itself. works like a charm.

I use Worldmate Pro. While it is good for all my flying outside the country usually, some indian Airlines don't update their data in time and then it is a problem. Like Spicejet is a pain area. overall good.

Ironically, I just got a response back from Worldmate that they can't support the Jet Airways itinerary email that I forwarded to them last week. They used to do it before - and I've emailed back asking why not.

Only time I've not had success before this is when I asked them to add support for Indian Railways - but they had a genuine reason, as the confirmation emails from IRCTC don't have the train times and Worldmate can't deal with that with the automatic system (though you can add it manually).

Kayak is fantastic and free, free update notifications as well, and you can manually add/edit things & add notes to any event - tracks flights, hotels, etc -- used it for a 90day RTW trip last year and it was phenomenal to have one place to reference everything for my trip - can also let friends/family see it via a private link (or make it private if you want).

The Blackberry Travel App is developed with World Mate. So I think, I'm covered in that area.

will try the iPhone / Android versions as well.. ( Too Many devices, I know..)

I've used both Worldmate Gold and Tripit Pro for a couple of years. They both have their drawbacks but I'm inclining to Tripit. For an upcoming trip on VA and 4Q, tripit couldn't understand the VA booking and got the first sector of the 4Q booking from the confirmation email. Worldmate could understand the same VA booking but not the 4Q booking.

But the problem with Worldmate was, when I manually added the 4Q booking, it wouldn't add the 4Q airline code. When I try to manually edit the flight, carrier name and flight no are greyed out - but when you save the edit it demands the airline code which cannot be added. Realy annoying

Cheers skip

Worldmate says that the PDFs Jet is producing now aren't convertible and they can't support it anymore. I was going to try Kayak, but space on my Andriod phone is already overloaded and Kayak app seems to be huge!
