More route reductions ?

Seems further flight suspensions on the card.. got this mail today..

MAA - KUL -- suspended w.e.f 3.7.2012.
MAA - DXB -- suspended w.e.f 23.6.2012.

Seems Jet dramatically cutting down on their intl ops..

Simz - you should be able to do EWR-BRU-DEL-CCU because the BRU-DEL segment isn't cancelled.

Why not just fly EWR-BRU-DEL-CCU? Or EWR-BRU-MAA-CCU for that matter?

Anything beats the BOM connection.

You arrive at T2 in the middle of the night. You get the pleasure of riding an infrequent, crowded bus around the airport to T1, while practically asleep and with luggage.

That, along with the fact that CSIA in general is a dirty, disorganized dump.

while I never have transited at BOM, since I live here, I have transited at DEL and MAA and I can safely suggest DEL to be the best option out of the 3 you have.

At BOM, you get out from the jetbridge, walk a mile or so if you are at a far away gate to go into immigration (first point of arrival), then collect bags, go into a bus to be taken to T1.

At DEL, you get out of the plane, use travelators to get to passport control, and then hop across a few metres after arrival to go back into T3 domestic.

At MAA, in the old scheme of things, you again could travel a very small distance for the international to domestic transit. haven't gone there since the new buildings came up.

the international & domestic terminals are basically 2 different airports 20-30 minutes apart....

security at the domestic or international airport won't allow you inside the terminal till about 3 hours before your flight....so basically if you have a layover longer than 3-4 hours then you won't be allowed inside....

the bus running between the 2 terminals is very crowded & is often late....

It's the WORST. Been stranded so many times at BOM domestic cause I'm forced to take the 9W connection to Goa on the 0540 flight so I have to spend the night in BOM. Had to spend a good 3-4 hours on the horrid benches outside, knowing that a lounge with comfortable sofas awaits you inside.
