A parting gift from the JACCC

Here's a thought:

Offer 1, aka "Purchase JPMiles online and get additional Bonus JPMiles!" (http://www.jetairways.com/EN/IN/JetP...usJPMiles.aspx) will give you 4,000 Bonus JPMiles on a purchase of, say, 10,000 JPMiles @ Rs 12,500.

Offer 2, aka "Jet Airways Citibank Credit Card Triple Bonus JPMiles Offer" (http://www.jetairways.com/EN/IN/JetP...usJPMiles.aspx) will give you 1,500 Triple Bonus JPMiles over and above the 500 spend-based JPMiles.

That's a total of 16,000 JPMiles for Rs 12,500 (Re 0.78125 per mile).

All you need to do then, is figure out how to redeem those JPMiles for Re 1 or more of value (easier said than done, but not impossible), yielding a ROI of 28% or more.

I know what my last spend on the JACCC is going to be.

O ye of little faith. It's a task, I grant, but not impossible, surely?

The redemption of 1 Mile ~ INR 1 would be possible in very few short domestic sectors. for Metro/Cross Country, the Available fare is less than the Miles+Surcharges.

Short Domestic Resumption at 4K - 5K miles + Around INR 600 in taxes ( May be higher if there is a ADF & PSF) . The available fare is around 2.5 - 3.5K INR.

For Metro/Cross Country (MAA-DEL & VV), the redemption rate is higher and availability is almost Zero, even in Economy Cabins.

So choose wisely.

I was thinking more in terms of a miles upgrade, on a revenue Y ticket, on international destinations like SIN, HKG, BRU, EWR. No additional taxes on upgrades, unlike LHR, and a JP Plat can upgrade from the lowest fare class.

True. But this is JetPunishment. So best go with "Everything ventured, nothing gained."
