9W Changes: Should I be concerned?
Sorry to bother you (and that too on Burra Din) with my travel woes, but I booked a 9W through flight GOI-CCU (connecting in BLR) online a couple of weeks ago. A few days ago I received an e-mail advising that the GOI-BLR flight schedule had changed, making the connection obviously no longer feasible.
Any other (non-Indian) carrier would have automatically booked me another set of flights (a connection via BOM was possible), but 9W did not bother. I had to call them from the US, when an agent re-booked me via BOM and promised to have a new e-ticket receipt sent 'shortly'. Well, "shortly" has now stretched to 5 days and even after daily phone reminders, I still do not have the new e-ticket receipt. The 9W call centre agents refuse to allow me to speak to a supervisor (if one exists at all) and my patience is wearing thin (admittedly that is a big no-no when dealing with India). The flights are now about a fortnight away. Do you folks who have far more experience with 9W than yours truly feel that I should practice patience and wait, or is some other course of action advisable in the circumstances? PS. Am I the only one who finds 9W's telephone greeting (when one calls the US toll-free number) to be absolutely revolting? The extremely affected female accent just sends me up the wall and talking to the awful agents does not help matters either. |
The issue is that when you call 9W on the US time there are no supervisors on shift (it's the same call centre). The staff on shift at night (India time) are awful. I would suggest calling the India number during US night time and trying to reach a supervisor who should have this taken care of for you.
Also have you checked on jetairways.com on what your booking is showing as? tried to print an e-ticket recepit? sometimes the reissue is done but the mail doesn't go through. |
