How does Kingfisher handle flight cancellations?

I need to fly GOI-BOM-CCU-BKK and IT has the best fare; however I am obviously concerned about the possibility of disruptions due to IT's financial state. Does anyone have experience of how IT handles flight cancellations? Are passengers expected to take the next IT flight, regardless of when it operates? Does IT endorse tickets to other carriers or merely refunds the fare leaving passengers to fend for themselves? If they refund, how do they handly partly flown tickets where a through fare ticket has been issued?

Any insights from actual experience with IT will be appreciated.

I would suggest you consider a different airline.

IT domestic India services are very unreliable right now.

+100. Is there a particular reason your flying that route?

I'd stick to Jet and fly GOI-BOM-BKK. Get your bags checked through to BKK, sit back and relax.

I would suggest AI over 9W...

how much better is the best fare????kingfisher is extremely unreliable at this point & it is not recommended to fly them at this point, specially if you have a connection....

Any links to the current situation on Kingfisher? I am booked to go PNQ-BLR-TRV and then CCJ-BLR-PNQ again. Flights were about 150 euro all together. Is this going to be a write-off and I have to find another way to get down to Kerala and out again?

There are better ways to spend that 150 Euro, yes. But it is yet unclear whether it will be a write-off.

I suggest you book through AI, SG, 6E, or even 9W/S2 in the future.

How does IT handle flight cancellation? From what I have read and heard, it doesn't.

You mean the AI who cancelled my domestic flight earlier this year, refused to endorse me onto another carrier and left me no choice but to book a last-minute flight on 9W and claim it back from Amex travel insurance? Yeah right....

Service AI=9W>>>>>>S2
Food: AI>9W>>>>>>>S2
Fare (usually) S2=AI<<9W
Size of Plane AI>9W=S2 (no other airline flies 777s domestic)
Seat Pitch AI>9W>>S2

As you can see, there is a pattern. AI is giving you 9W service at S2 prices.

Each to their own I guess. For me the food has always been better on 9W and what seals it for me everytime is the service. 9W's service is better then AI. Try complaining to AI after something has gone wrong and no one wants to know. 9W will always get back in touch.
