Jet Airways - Beware

Hi all

this is just to warn you ridiculous changes of schedules and configurations of the aircrafts by Jet Airways. There is a possibility that you might not be seated together even if you have booked tickets months in advance. for example i have suffered this for my trips booked to Kathmandu and Singapore of Jet Airways. The changed schedule and configuration of the aircrafts has lead to seating allotment going haywire. Even though we had booked months in advance we have been told that we cant be alloted seats which we desire because other seats are blocked. Mind you this is business class. You can very well imagine what passengers in economy will go through. So that right thing to do would be to call up Jet Airways and check about your seating. If anybody has experiences like this pls share.

I beleive official 9W policy while booking for F,J is that your seat is "requested" and not confirmed.. you can only be assigned seat during the check-in window.. which differs per class of ticket / JP status etc... but that's my info which might be outdated...

I dint know this...but never had a problem with 9W while travelling earlier....be it economy or business.....i used to ask seats at the time of booking which was honoured....they have been changing flights schedules leading to extra expenditure at hotels due to changed bookings....but then i guess there is nothing fair in this world....wish could take these airlines to task

you can actually confirm your seat number 48 hours prior to departure if you are traveling in business or first....

I had a family member once bumped from a seat from BOM-EWR (6K) because supposedly the captain wanted it (6A is the designated rest seat). I called PR and kicked up a huge racket a BOM and they sorted it out - the cc was as usual totally unhelpful...

I've had just about as much cr**p from 9W that I can stomach for a 30 day period. Time to head back to oneworld and CX/BA on my east/west flights respectively.

@ galaticos @ keyser just checked with jet airways...they say the seats allotted are firm and confirmed and no need to check again unless the config of aircraft changes...so it seems "requested...not confirmed" is not true...btw i am JP Silver and travelling Business
