CONSOLIDATED - What is the best travel credit card from India now

Dear FTers,

thanks

A little more data would be of help as to which airline you fly the most? your spending limit and the benefits you seek like free vouchers, lounge access etc.

both cards suck now....i would give the edge ever so slightly to the kingfisher amex at the moment....you can still get to gold status via spends & you don't have to pay ridiculous fees to use the free ticket you get via spends....also, redemption in kingfisher is a lot easier....now if only they could improve the state of the airline....

I tend to agree. I am increasingly bending towards using that amex rather than the 9w card. I was also hoping to hear a comparison of the other cards here which are not affiliated with a single airline maybe

Citibank Premier Miles is a good option for a card which is not aligned to any airline, they have quite a number of airline partners and it comes with a host of other benefits including complimentary Priority Pass membership.

What are the requirements for an Indian based travel credit card.

I am not India based but do have the Permanent Residency in India (OCI) plus have large deposits in Indian banks. My de facto home address for the bank accounts is actually my in laws in.

Do i need to actually have income in India to qualify for an indian based credit card?

I had gelatinous Chinese Chilly Chicken goo for a meal on Kingfisher this Monday. I know its Y but still....

Planensimple - can you enlighten us about your experience with the PremierMiles card? How are earning opps and redemptions?

Of late Kingfisher's service level have taken a big hit. They seem to be the next AI in the making.

The Card is good in terms of so many partner airlines it has so you can pick choose which airline you wanna transfer your points to. With the Citi-Jet card being devalued i think this card makes more sense.

I've recently junked my 9W Cc and brought on the PremierMiles CC. It rocks. I already logged more than 10K Premier Miles on it, and I can use them on 9w, KFA, AI, SQ, CX and TG. or I book using their website.

Actually - I have to say - AI is miles ahead in terms of reliability and consistency than IT. Would prefer them any day.

The premiermiles card has really proven to be a winner given that it's not bound to one airline and with its generous benefits it really seems to be a winner in the big Indian market where available options are very less.

What are the annual fees?

Also does Citi allows you to downgrade the Plat card to Titanium one?

i've been considering this card but the only problem is that it won't earn you upgrade vouchers....even with the increased requirement on the 9w cc, i'll still average a voucher or two a month....giving up about 20 vouchers per year is going to be difficult....
