Kingfisher Troubles?

There is a news article in EconomicTimes about IT grounding 2 ATRs due to cash crunch for procuring the spares. Though the article does not quote any official sources, I looked around and found many articles about Oil companies refusing to fill the planes due to pending bills etc.

So the Question is How bad is the situation?

and if they ground a flight / delay it, will they book you in an alternative carrier - irrespective of the fare class / Status?

kingfisher has been facing this problem for a while now....there are many reports on ft about kingfisher canceling at the last minute & sometimes not even informing the passenger about the change or cancellation....

I recently had a DEL-MAA (evening flight) delayed over 4 hours. They refused to put anyone on any other carrier (because they never really gave the correct duration of delay...making no announcements). Flatly refused any compensation (they refused compensation to everyone right in the boarding area!).
I think they did provide some food. (I did not try it).

I think IT has become very unreliable....

In a separate incident I was flying MAA-BLR. The IT flight was getting delayed. I simply canceled at airport check-in counter (they did refund me the fare). And flew 9W.

That Sucks!

I have a flight in IT coming up in few weeks - with a very tight connection in DEL (45 Mins). The last 2 times I did it, had a ramp transfer.

There is another IT Flight to the Destination after 2 Hrs - I guess IT will rebook automatically if the connection is missed?

Any experiences?

I was reading a copy of the Times of India last Tuesday, when I saw an article about IT flights being grounded on Monday afternoon till their fuel bill had been paid. I was on a plane in KTM while this was happening - but no delays. ^
