Guys... need advice.. i need a redemption booking on 9W 762 (GOI DEL) for next week.. there is no redemption availability showing for many weeks on end.. dunno what is the reason.. is there is any benefit in waiting it out or calling them and asking for a redemption booking ??

Very unlikely AI will open up award availability close to the date. Your best bet could be calling to request for a waitlisted award ticket and hoping it clears before the flight.

Same case with Jet. FYI Jet does not fly GOI-DEL direct, there's a layover in BOM.

Do you think that is why they are not showing that flight as available for redemption ?? it's a stopover, no change in aircraft, no redoing security.. not an exact layover.. now im really tempted to call them and see if they can open a redemption booking..

Update: i checked GOI-BOM and BOM-DEL, both are showing seats available for redemption.. when I look for revenue ticket, it shows as one flight, and not as two flights.. yet when it comes to redemption, they want people to redeem for two flights.. i am going to call tomorrow to see if they are able to do anything to change this situation..

Booked Madrid - Delhi in AI. 2 pax in economy for 90K miles + 51Euro in taxes. Revenue tickets will be 670 Euro so roughly INR 0.6 per mile....not bad for economy?

Redeemed AMS-BLR in Biz class on 9W. 110k miles + 72 EUR. Revenue ticket was ~3600EUR - so INR 2.8 per mile. Pretty good in my book.

SFO-HKG in business on CX for 100k JP miles plus Rs 8.2k taxes. Almost better than the idea of flying CX (as opposed to 9W) with those miles is the satisfaction that comes with having offloaded 100k 9W miles.

Thats what it shows if you search for AMS-BLR ... however booking a round trip (BLR-AMS-BLR) in Biz is around 2600Eur so it was still 1300Eur worth

CCU-AMS via BOM on 9W metal in about two weeks for 109k and 6200 INR tax in business. Let's hope Jet doesn't go belly up in the mean time nor cut back on inflight service.

Does this really appear possible?

There will be major chaos if so...

Unless it's fixed by the time you fly.... no lounge access in BOM.

Just booked BOM-CDG + CDG-FCO + FCO-AMS + AMS-BOM all with 5-10 day stopovers for INR 50k in Y and used 100k miles to upgrade both the CDG and AMS segments on 9W.

What are my rights in case of a schedule change from the airline side on an award booking? I had a booked BLR-CDG-CUN ticket on AF (both segments) by redeeming 9W miles. It looks like AF has canceled the BLR-CDG leg on my date of travel. I had asked 9W to rebook the same flights a couple of days later. 9W is saying that they are able to confirm the BLR-CDG leg, but the CDG-CUN leg is waitlisted. I can see that AF is selling revenue tickets for my preferred dates.

If a confirmed award booking needs to be rescheduled due to a schedule change from the airline side, are my options limited to only other flights which have award availability?
