Got an email from King Club and notice that they were voted the best program of the year for 2010 !! Awarded at the Frequent Travel Award 2010.!!

Seeing the problems they had in 2010, who would hv voted them the best

The FT awards are based on voluntary voting, IT was very successful in getting out the vote.@:-)

Never heard of it, but now that I checked the site and seen all the known FT'ers, it's pretty cool...

kingfisher has always been very good with awards....whether they deserve them or not is a different question altogether....

Yes, I think so. They seem to have a fancy exterior but I seem to hear more and more horror stories about them.

I think KF is one of the innovative airlines, something out of the ordinary. I am not surprised they won!

yes its out of the ordinary for sure.. no other airline worth its name would not have engine maintenance contracts not present resulting in many planes being grounded , oil cos having to resort to cash and carry for giving fuel etc :D:rolleyes:
On the few sectors ( BOM - DEL v.v) (BLR - BOM v.v) and sometimes (DEL - BLR v.v) it has quite consistent service but otherwise its the luck of the draw atleast in the recent past with them in my view..

The FT awards are for the FFP, not the airline itself. Something people often confuse. SQ may have the best cabin, service etc, but their FFP is not so great, hence someone else may win in that region.

i agree....

kingfisher's ffp has become a lot better as of late....they have tied up with a bunch of partners, introduced some regular promos, added a platinum tier which comes with some cool benefits, have an option for a family account, etc....they also have a decent number of seats for redemption on every flight....

How are taxes, YQ and fees for redemptions with Kingclub for both IT flights and partner airlines? How do they compare with 9W?

yes, in my opinion king club has impoved their frequent flyer program quite significantly. their reward tickets are quite cheaper than other alternatives on key routes like BOM-LHR and on domestic india network

I'm really looking forward to how well this program integrates with the OneWorld FFP status' and how it compares to hitting OWE and OWS with similar status on existing OneWorld carriers.

Anyone know about YQ?

Exactly the same policy as 9W AFAIK.

- YQ is charged on international redemptions.
- YQ is not charged on pure domestic redemptions using miles.
- YQ is charged on domestic redemptions using "free" tickets. (For eg. the free domestic KFF ticket with Rs 3.5l spend on the KF Amex card. Here the YQ will be charged per sector.)
