I had a BOM-DEL-MXP booking with DEL-MXP upgraded using vouchers. The upgrade was already confirmed, and I was told that I could tele check-in (no OLCI since I had upgraded) 48 hrs in advance. When I tried doing so, the folks at the call-centre told me I could not since my BOM-DEL was in Y though she could check me in for the DEL-MXP segment. Since I did not really care about the DEL-MXP seat assignment, I declined checking-in then.

When I tried the next day, I was told I could have checked in 48 hrs in advance for both the segments. Why this confusion? Which is the right rule?

if you were on the same pnr then you could check in 48 hours prior....if not then the first agent was right....
