agree with lallyr...although here's what happened with me...my 9W F was purchased 3 weeks ago...but i called AA to get my brother a seat on the same flight ...they said no inventory from 9W...put them on hold..called Jet and told them the story...told them my dad was Platinum etc - verfied his details..- then conferenced the AA agent and they talked some techno booking people stuff between them and got me a seat...little bit around the system..but as saad said, if you persist...there is a way...I'm sure they hold out for paid tickets but closer to departure - they might release some...keep trying is all i can say to doubled79..good luck mate..and in case you are wondering...the pesterin is well worth it..

How many days before the flight did they confirm your second seat?

I wish I could get 2 jet F seats - I released the 2 seats that I had and switched to BA since Jet F wasn't available (I had to change my flight dates).

I don't have status with AA so what should I tell them? "Could you please call jet and release 2 seats for me? I know you can't sell those F seats so please let me use them?"

I'll keep calling every day, but am not optimistic of getting 2 seats in Jet F using AA miles.

Impossible. The only person I know to have succeed is galaticos so try his way. The key is to call up in the last few days before departure as then they release the second seat. But then too I have found that the second seat is not released by the person on the other end of the phone rather inventory control has to authorize it which normally takes the involvement of a manager to call you back.

But galaticos seems to have got it to work so you can surely try it his way. I have managed to get 2 but both on Jet miles.

from the feedback by lallyr and saad, it seems I was really really lucky in this....also have to point that when we flew the 2 seats...we were the only ones in F...so might have something to do with available inventory there...

9W LHR counter hours

Well, perhaps they are supposed to open at 4.30pm, but today they opened at 4.55pm. First class check in desk had no flowers, overly made up dumb check in agent (wearing a ridiculous badge proclaiming 'Passenger Service Executive') did not even beckon to the passenger waiting to check in (yours truly) to indicate that she was ready to accept passengers. Could not enter my BD FF#, which means I will have to claim the miles later. Disappointing experience so far; let's see what the inflight experience turns out to be.

you are at LHR check-in for the 9.30pm flight 5 hours early?? i'm just delighted they have counters open....cant comment on your state as i've never checked in earlier than 8pm for the 9.30 flight....but the in-flight experience is worth it...def..
