Advice Needed - Transiting DEL on 3OCT
I am booked to take an outbound international flight from Delhi in the early hours of 3OCT (approx. 0030h) - the day that the Commonwealth Games are due to open. So I am expecting heightened security (read fuss and inconvenience) and other assorted problems.
I will be originating on 2OCT from either COK or BLR (don't know which, as yet) and would of course prefer to take a non-stop connecting flight into Delhi. The question is when should I aim to arrive in Delhi? If I arrive too early, my luggage and I will have to mark time at (i.e. outside) the airport; traffic conditions and the paucity / expense of hire vehicles due to the CWG will preclude leaving the airport. If I try to arrive just in time (say around 7-8pm), there is a real possibility IMO that the incoming flight will be delayed due to some silly 'VIP movement' or worse. So what should I do? |
i don't really expect there to be any delays due to 'vip movement or worse' but it would be a good idea to get in a little early....head over to the radisson for a meal & to kill some time & then back to the airport in time for your flight....
