AI to start nonstop DEL-ORD

Hi All,

AI will commence daily nonstop DEL-ORD. AI will goes on this winter 2010 daily. It will put on operated 777-200LR. So here the schedules:

AI 127 DEL - ORD 0105 0600 16 hrs 25 mins
AI 126 ORD - DEL 1545 1700+1 14 hrs 45 mins

I think its nice to see continuation more capacity growth in DEL. Also, AI will be no longer service one-stop through DEL-FRA-ORD and now, it is being replacing by FRA-ORD will be elimination.

Regards

If I am not wrong AI 126 and AI 127 used to service BOM-ORD sector. Will that be discontinued now?

great news! having another non stop to Delhi would be great. Hope this would push AA's prices down a bit.

Can AI miles be credited on any US carrier?

So far as I know , not yet , but if AI do actually join Star ( supposedly "not later than" 31/03/2011 ) then you should be able to credit eligible fares to US/UA(CO) programmes .

BOM-FRA-ORD and BOM-JFK will both be discontinued.

DEL-LHR-YYZ will also be discontinued in favour of separate DEL-YYZ and DEL-LHR nonstops.

Also, I hear a rumors from AI will direct service BOM-DEL-JFK on operated 777-300ER aircraft. Do you meant where AI will start owned nonstop from DEL-JFK instead of going through BOM will be discontinuation nonstop BOM-JFK. I think DL will have reconsider to reinstates BOM-JFK or ATL nonstop once again if the economy is improving enough.

Yes, only CO BOM-EWR, DL BOM-AMS-JFK and no one anyone else.

i don't think bom-ams-jfk qualifies as non stop....

even ai flies bom-jfk directly....

The schedule in the first post is a little weird. What is the plane going to do at ORD for 10 hours (from 6am to 3:45pm)? It works for AA because ORD is a hub and they probably send the planes elsewhere. But AI planes can't do much at ORD. Maybe they need this much slack in the schedule to cover their inevitable delays.

However, if the schedule holds, the 5pm arrival in DEL is much better for onward connections within India, unlike AA's absurd 9pm arrival.

I think you mention DL only flies one-stop through BOM-AMS-JFK and its not nonstop.

At the moment, the only BOM-USA non-stops are CO (EWR-BOM v v) and AI (BOM-JFK v v). The AI fight is being discontinued, to be replaced -- so the story goes -- by an AI BOM-EWR v v non-stop. That one isn't showing in GDS yet.

DEL--USA now has AA (ORD-DEL v v), CO (EWR-DEL vv), and AI (DEL-JFK v v).
The AI DEL-ORD v v and DEL-YYZ v v nonstops will be additions to the list of India -- North America nonstops.
