DULLES, Va., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Independence Air is now proud to offer the digEplayer(TM) personal inflight media player to customers on all flights between Washington Dulles and the West Coast -- including Las Vegas, San Diego and the new flights to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Jose that will begin on Sunday.

The digEplayer is a portable viewer with a super-clear seven-inch screen that allows unlimited on-demand viewing of a wide selection of movies, TV shows, music videos and audio channels -- for a fee of just $10 per flight, including headphones. The menu of titles will be refreshed every 60 days. Independence Air digEplayer selections include: -- 10 or more full-length feature movies, including several for children and families -- 10-15 episodes of hit TV comedies and other network programs -- A selection of music videos featuring pop, rock, country and hip-hop stars -- 100 song titles covering a full range of musical genres -- Plus, Independence Air-exclusive comedy shorts starring "The FLYi Guy"(SM)

Senior Vice President of Marketing Eric Nordling said, "We've been testing the digEplayer on our West Coast flights this month, and based on the reactions from those who've experienced it so far, we expect it to be a hit. Our customers love the fact that they have total control over exactly which movies, TV shows and music they want to choose, plus, with this much content available you can fly several times a month and still never work your way through the entire menu. That's pretty good value for just ten bucks per flight."

Independence Air currently offer low fares to 42 destinations with comfortable leather seats and Tender Loving Service(SM). Flights from Washington to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Jose begin Sunday, May 1. For more information about FLYi, Inc. and Independence Air, please visit our website at FLYi.com.

Independence Air is the low-fare airline that makes travel fast and easy for its customers with a customer first attitude, innovative thinking and a willingness to challenge the status quo.

Independence Air, the "i" logo mark, FLYi, the FLYi Guy, FLYi.com, Tender Loving Service and Go Your Own Way are service marks of Independence Air, Inc.

This is a pretty good idea IMO. Creates great competetion with Jet Blue and will be very useful on the coast to coast flights.

It is a little different. For Independence, you have to pay 10 dollars and you can only watch DVD's. But it is better then nothing.

Technically, you can only watch the pre-loaded movies and programs that are on the player, not your own DVDs. The current list is here:
