Talking Watch for 20 mile awards!

Suddenly I see seven restaurants in the Houston section that are offering 20 miles per dollar (at least on the NWA site). I normally never see any. FYI they are (by area):

BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION Alfred T. Hornback's
DOWNTOWN/HEIGHTS Les Givral's
GALLERIA The Palace
NORTH/NORTHEAST Taqueria Tepatitlan #13 (yummy, authentic and cheap)
NORTHWEST Cantina Del Mar
SOUTHEAST Ixtapa House (NOW CLOSED...DON'T GO THERE!)
SOUTHWEST La Tapatia (Hillcroft)

Don't know if this is primarily a Houston phenomenon. (I did see two 20-milers in the Seattle listings.)

It probably won't last long so check 'em out friends!

Ooh..ooh..I tried Les Givral's yesterday downtown - the #2 grilled sliced pork sandwich is outstanding - as are the spring rolls with grilled pork. The only challenge (since I was dining alone) was trying to spend over five dollars since that is the minimum credit card charge....I got the sandwich, two spring rolls and a diet coke, and the total with tax was $5.96. (Note - they are breakfast and lunch only, except they are open evenings Friday and Saturday....I'll be back rewards or no!) ^

I only found one - Mundos. I've never been there, and it's a bit out-of-the-way, but I'm willing to try it out for "double" miles.

Thanks Watchful - had been a while since I'd seen the 20 pt rewards though I hadn't looked recently. I realize there is a separate thread on 'great idine restuarants' but in the category of recommended 20 pt restaurants, I'll add this one in Chicago where we got dinner last night:

Redmond's
3358 N. Sheffield Ave.
Chicago, IL 60657
ph: (773) 404-2151
redmondschicago.com

This is really a bar/pub, not a restaurant (we did takeout) near Wrigley - but we thought the sandwiches we got were great and wanted to recommend it for anyone in Chicago looking for an enjoyable 20 pointer. Glad we got to sneak a January visit in and will probably hit it every month it stays at a high level.

There is one outside of Rochester NY offering 30 Priority Club points. Normally it is 15.

Didn't find much in the WAS-Baltimore area (I didn't check North VA.) The only places I could find were:

Chef Recipe
Prince Georges County
8319 Old Branch Ave
Clinton
(301) 856-5743

Fattie's Bar & Grill
Baltimore Metro
1030 Old Eastern Ave
Baltimore
(410) 686-9111

Uncle George's Place
Baltimore Metro
120 S Bond St
Bel Air
(410) 879-7226

All are too far out of the way

This 20 pointer has already reverted back to 10 - could just be this place but wanted to alert people - was probably only 20 for about 3 weeks. Maybe the restaurants have gained flexibility with the ease of changing their awards and will do more experimenting to see if there are associated increases/decreases in sales. Anyway, jump on those big rewards while you see them.

Great fiind, LBBZman.

Guess 20 miles per $ has a higher priority than my new year resolution.

Did anyone find out when this promo will end?

BTW, if you are in bay area, give Cafe Rue in Oakland a try. It offers rather unique French-Chinese food (having its origin in former french colonies in southeastern asia), not to mention 20 miles per dollar spent.

Minneapolis/St Paul 20 pointers

I just went through the web site for 20 point/Northwest Idine restaurants and found the two below. They serve "American" food (whatever that means!)

Johnny A's 200 Club, 200 West Broadway, Minneapolis
and
Celt's Pub, 6559 Concord Boulevard, Inver Grove Heights

link

The link that was given above to find a list of 'hot deals' (as they call it) (http://aa.rewardsnetwork.com/diningdeals.jsp) includes some locations that don't give the 20 miles per $, guess it's the locations that give more than they did in the past.
