2014 Roll Call

Another lackluster year, which is the new normal:

19,303 American
A smattering of United

Looking back at past years I barely can remember how I used to rack up big numbers--over a million AA miles aggregate--even with the 10 miles per and bonuses. As my miles continue to decline for the 4th year running I'm tempted to give up the whole ordeal, but when travelling I do try to seek out a convenient Idinery if Yelp doesn't convince me I'm bound for disappointment.

I always enjoy AA-RN historicals (it's been great RN, but what have you done for me lately?):

2013: 23,593
2012: 28.151
2011: 69,194
2010: 90,095
2009: 84,980
2008: 135,097
2007: 117,774
2006: 121,518
2005: 122,031

With 2001-2004 lost to the mists of time.

Well, at least it was really good when it really mattered for AA (ie, prior to Dec 2011). If your 2001-2004 was anywhere near your 2005-2008, it sounds like you got at least one of your MMs just from dining!

My main program, AA, had a total of about 6,000 miles. Every other program was much less. 2014 was a bad year and I don't think it will get any better anytime soon.

We could use more Bonus Offers

21,687 for me in "14", not to bad considering, I have different cards for my 3 kids. I try to bolster their accounts with the minimum dines for the year and chase the bonuses.

All in all, I say we need more bonus offers, restaurants, and a stop on the blackout nights some restaurants have.

11,120, all to Delta. I really don't go out of my way to go to restaurants on the list, though there are a couple of places in the neighborhood we go to anyway (not expensive) that are on the list so why not use my card instead of cash and get 5 points per dollar spent.

I also have had a couple of surprises where I ate dinner on the road and ended up getting points as that restaurant was on the list. So I am happy with the program, I get "free" points for eating where I would anyway.

Did like Jailer said, seeking out RN restaurants when on the road, or if the group is looking for a decent lunch spot and will pay me cash if I charge it. Credited all 38 dines (only two were surprises) to UA MP Dining and happy to get more than enough for a one-way domestic Y Saver Award.

2014 = 14,466 (bonuses = 2,600)

Previous records:
2013 = 12,722 (bonuses = 6,260)
2012 = 7,256 (bonuses = 1,650)
2011 = 14,471 (bonuses = 5,815)
2010 = 19,701 (bonuses = 9,579)

Joined in June 2009 = ?

2015 is off to a good start with 2,302 miles earned so far, though I doubt I can keep up that pace.
