Iberia mixing classes on same ticket
I purchased a BASICA class flight from BLQ-BCN and TURISTA for the BCN-BLQ so I could get a refund if I finally didn't need the return flight. The problem is IB are not having any of it and denied my refund saying that the BASICA class conditions apply to the whole ticket. The problem is I paid 300 Euro more to have the privilegde to be able to cancel the return should I wish to and there is nothing in their terms and conditions about this rule.
Please help |

Unfortunately, IB is correct in this case (and this is a standard rule for most airlines):
[KVS Availability Tool 5.1.1/Diamond - DotRes: BLQ-BCN/IB/P14NEOI4/66 USD] Code:
PENALTIES : |
Well, I was not aware of this, but anyway it is not mentioned anywhere on their website or terms and conditions, I have taken photos of every step of the booking process and at all times it says my fare is refundable.
I am now taking Iberia to court since what they advertise is not granted. Will update you on the result. |

I also sometimes book different fare classes on the same ticket. (I know that for instance Brussels Airlines applies the correct rules for flexibility for each leg. I have used this in the past without any problem.) |

Just out of interest, what part of the text that you have copied says this? I have gone through it, but could not find it. I guess it’s somewhere in “COMBINATIONS”...

Thanks! |
Did anyone actually try to book the same flihts I booked to check whether anywhere it mentions about this restriction?
The information you have provided is from third parties. I am still awiting the 30 day limit I gave to Iberia before we go to court... |
Hi,
Reviving an old thread. Wanted to check whether Iberia still applies the most restrictive fare when combining different fares, and whether there is a way to check this prior to buying a ticket. Thanks |

No, not really. But check if they still have their flexible travel policy. You might be able to add flexible changes for a fee.
