OWS - Fast Track Security

Hey folks,

I have OWS status, does that give me access to Fast Track security like someone on a similar level on IB Club?

I've got flights from MAD to VLC to SVQ to MAD coming up.
I've got my boarding passes but don't see anything on it that might indicate Fast Track.

Also, if I do qualify, am I able to take a guest?

Thank you :)

Just as a datapoint:

I flew MAD - AMS earlier this month as OWS (non-IB, AY) and got Fast Track from MAD to AMS. However, I did not get it from AMS to MAD.

The boarding pass indicated Priority security.

Was this a paper boarding pass, or on your phone?

I can see on my phone boarding pass that my FF number is showing on the booking, and I've been able to select my seats for free, and have extra baggage.

It's not a massive deal if not available, just making sure I don't attempt to use what I'm not supposed to.

Both showed it.

You can always try it, the worst thing that could happen is that the gate beeps "no".

Normal security is next to priority security as well.

Shouldn't it work at least at LHR as well? (Admittedly, I was Emerald last time I flew IB in economy LHR-MAD, and since I dropped to Sapphire I've only flown BA out of there.)

Yes, good catch!

How did this work out for you in the end?

I just checked in with the same issue, OWS, and I get free seat selection and baggage, and I also get boarding group 1, so clearly it sees the status, but the boarding pass does not say Sapphire, and it does not say Fast Track.
Even though a flight I had roughly a month ago, with exactly the same situation, same number, same name, it did show Sapphire and did show Fast Track. Very odd.

Seems a bit random? I guess I will stop by the IB desk to ask when i get to the terminal, or just try priority security anyway.

I've not been on the trip yet. Still just over a week to go.

Ok, I will give it a go on Tuesday and let you know! If there is no queue, I might stop by the business check-in counters to ask, even though I only have hand luggage.

I've actually just reached out to their twitter team (who've been helpful before) to see if there is an answer, will update if I hear back.

On a tangent, I've never been able to get a response on their WhatsApp route. It's like the message just goes into a black hole.

Just had quite a comprehensive response to my question on twitter.

Hola, Waffles1. Thank you for reaching out. Yes, you absolutely get full oneworld Sapphire benefits (lounge access and priority services) on your Iberia flights, even though only the RJ Frequent Flyer number is listed on the boarding pass.

The system recognizes your status through the attached Frequent Flyer number.

1. Lounge Access
As a oneworld Sapphire member, you are entitled to Business Class Lounge access before each flight.

Madrid (MAD): You can use the Iberia Premium Lounge Dalí (T4) or the Iberia Premium Lounge Velázquez (T4S).

Valencia (VLC) and Seville (SVQ): You will be directed to the applicable contract lounge at those airports. Ask at the Iberia check-in desk for the exact name and location of the lounge.

2. Fast Track / Priority Security
Yes, you are entitled to Fast Track access at Security in Madrid (T4) and any other airports in the network that offer it. This is included with your oneworld Sapphire status.

3. Your Friend's Access
For your friend to access the lounge with you, they need to be traveling on the same flight.

Lounge Access: You are entitled to bring one guest (your friend) into the lounge with you.

Fast Track / Priority: Fast Track is typically granted to the individual holding the status (you) and those traveling with you on the same booking.

You should not have any issues. Enjoy your flights! If there’s anything else we can assist with, please let us know.

This is clearly incorrect though. OW doesn't require lounge guests to be on the same flight, only that they're travelling on a same-day flight on a OW carrier.

Yeah, I did gloss over that part, but I'll trust in the main it's correct.

Trusting IB twitter Vs trusting IB FT...
