Baggage allowance mixed classes single ticket

Hello. Quick question. If I book a two-sector Avios flight, LHR > MAD > SDQ single ticket single PNR, the first sector in Blue and the second sector in Business, what will my baggage allowance be? I know it's 32Kg for Business x 2 bags and 23kg for Blue, but what policy does Iberia apply if there are two different class sectors? I need to buy the Avios so I want to know before making the booking. I am BA Silver, so one-world Sapphire. I think I am correct in saying I can take 2 x 23kg as my sapphire gives me an extra bag on the Blue sector and the website is showing the allowance as 1 bag for this sector. What I really want to know is if I can go up to 32kg for both bags?

Can anyone help me with this?

You are correct than on a Blue reservation you would get 2x23kg as a BA Sapphire (it would be 2x32kg for an IB Sapphire).

In your case, on a single ticket, the best allowance applies, so you get 2x32kg.

if I book a mixed class ticket on Iberia using Avios, for example, GRX->(blue class)>MAD->(Business Class)-JFK, what is the checked-in luggage allowance? is it the same for the reverse itinerary too? TIA

Now that Blue Class doesn't come with a checked luggage allowance I'm not sure. Probably the long-haul allowance would apply.

haha, he does have a lot of hats that he could eat.

but anyway, no smoke without fire, not surprised if blue becomes no baggage and no XL seats.

LHR-MAD in J; MAD-SCL in economy

Flying LHR- MAD-SCL with a one-night stopover in Madrid with my daughter. The first leg is in business and the long haul in economy. I booked through BA exec club with Avios, because that's where I have my Avios and I was never able to connect my BA account to my Iberia account. Anyway, on the Iberia website it's showing that we have an allowance of 2 suitcases each + a carry-on. Is that correct? Also, can anyone advise if we'd be able to access the lounge in Madrid? I'm BAEC bronze/ OW ruby. Cheers in advance!

What does your BA e-ticket receipt say, re the bags?
Re lounge - officially at least, it's a no (the connections policy looks at the cabin of the longhaul flight). There is a slim chance that they would allow access anyway, but with the stopover in there, I'd say pretty much zero chance.

Thanks! Despite booking yesterday, I still haven't received my e-ticket receipt! I'll let you know when I have.
