Where’s my booking reference? It doesn’t work.
Hi. I have booked an itinerary MVD-MAD-BUD-IST-MAD-MVD. Legs MVD-MAD and MAD-MVD are operated by Iberia, the rest by Turkish. My travel agent gave me the eticket and I have two reference numbers, a 5 characters one that says Iberia and a 6 characters one that says GDS. I have tried to access my booking through Iberia to select seats and it says there’s an error, same for Turkish, says that I cannot enter as it was booked by an agent. Is there any way of fixing that and getting a correct booking number? I can see the booking on check my trip. Thanks |
For IB, it would be the reference you used on CheckMyTrip. The 5 character one is only good for check-in (if that...).
That said, seat selection will likely not be able to be done online if not booked directly with IB. You're best calling up. Re TK, use the reference provided by the agency (normally not the same one as for CheckMyTrip) but on the app rather than the website. That sometimes works for me. |
Thanks, the Turkish Airline tip worked on the app for the TK operated legs, I wonder why some airlines are so complicated and won't let me select a seat online :(
