I don't have a gift card handy to try a dummy booking for you, but you could always buy the smallest denomination gift card and see whether the system accepts it for your itinerary. I would assume that it will give an error. |
If any of the booking segments are on a different airline to the Iberia group of airlines then you cannot use the gift card.
I went through all this a few months ago. AGP-MAD-LHR return with 3 of the flights on IB and one on BA (which I only realised at the payment part) Gift card not accepted. I have recently booked another trip where all 4 segments are IB and my gift card was accepted. |

Hello,
Iberia is currently offering their gift cards with a 10 % discount. The terms of use are the following: I would want to book the following flight, which can be booked through the Iberia website: Some of the flights are operated by American and BA. Does this mean that I will not able to use the gift card for this booking? Has anybody tested this out? If Iberia offers this connection on their site, I would expect to fully be able to use the gift card. It may be worth buying a card for EUR 1 first just to see if it works on the booking for the flight combo you want. I had a few cents left on my card after buying the MIA flights, and when I tried it on other bookings a few months later it was always accepted, no matter how small the amount. |
How long are these IB gift cards valid for? I would expect it to be 12 months.
ETA - Sorry, question already asked and answered in the Iberia Offering 10% Off Gift Cards thread. The validity is 1 year |
Must travel within 12 months to be precise.

Does anyone know how the gift card codes on CC? Is it travel as if you've purchased a flight? The promotion is back at the moment.

07/26 IBERIA 00055728NNNN MIAMI FL 755.15 1 X ZZZ ZZZ 2 X ZZZ XXX 3 X XXX XXX 4 X XXX XXX When I purchase flights those four XXX line items usually show the individual flight segments and relevant classes of service, eg. 1 J LHR ORD. So the item was formatted as if it were a flight purchase with undetermined segments. I also got the 3X Avios bonus for Iberia purchases with the BA Chase Visa card. |
Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me here as Iberia themselves are sending me in circles. I recently purchased an Iberia Gift card, however when I tried to use it to purchase tickets on Iberia.com, there was an issue with the Gift card - telling me that the code is not valid. I checked it on the Gift card page, and it returns an error that the code and the email does not correspond. I have contact iberia Customer service via phone and they could not help me. They requested me to file a complain which I did and now they have responded that I should call the Call Centre. Before I call again the call centre, I would like to know if there's another way to understand what's happening and most importantly solve it. Cheers! |

I’m having a similar issue with the gift card I purchased except it shows the correct amount on the website and gives me the error “payment not accepted for this purchase” when I try to purchase the flights, even though they are all Iberia/Iberia Air Nostrum flights. I have spoken on phone with over 10 agents, got cut off every single time and only 1 tried to be actually helpful. (I learned that they have a limited amount of time to spend on phone per customer and it automatically cuts off, which is the biggest disrespect I have ever heard from a customer service call center.) I created a claim and reached out on X/Twitter with no luck. I’m thinking of filing a dispute with my credit card company to try to get my money back and file a complaint for false advertising with department of transportation . |
I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with the U.S. DOT for something a Spanish company sold you?
|
So it doesn’t mean anything that the gift card was sold and bought in the US? Either way, I’m sure they have something similar in Spain which my Spanish lawyer sibling (in Spain) can help me figure out. But I’m here trying to see if there is any other way to try to resolve before having to go to such extreme measures.
