Iberia Voucher Experience Share Wanted

I am working to book an August itinerary for son and SO.
They have vouchers from previously cancelled (during COVID). iberia itinerary. (~1250$)
The expiration of these is 1/30/2023 for booking, and 7/31/2023 for travel. I am ready to book today.

Some questions.
1. Any experience share with getting iberia to allow voucher application or extending travel date on a voucher like this? (would like to book 2 one way flights on 8/13 which will consume full voucher amount (BCN->BOS). The flight is iberia operated.

2. I am a AA EXP, and have attempted to get EXP desk to help, but all they can do is transfer me to OneWorld Emerald Desk at Iberia (Which is only spanish speaking).

3. Can someone share privately a phone number to get to an english speaking Oneworld Emerald Desk at Iberia?

Calls to iberia US Customer service have yielded a number of different reactions
1. No chance, the expiration is the expiration
2. Some subtle mention of a voucher department (anyone have experience share about this or how to get to them?

thanks in advance for any experience/share. guidance.

my next shot is to try to reach the voucher department on monday

BCN-BOS isn't Iberia, it's Level. So your Oneworld status is irrelevant, although I do recognise that you are aiming at this stage for rule-bending rather than elite benefits for your trip.

AFAIK, there is no "Oneworld Emerald" desk at Iberia. IB+ elites may have their own numbers to call, but AFAIK that only jumps any queues - not reach dedicated, more qualified and empowered agents.

Perhaps your better option is to use your voucher on a flight / fare that is fully refundable. Later on you cancel that dummy booking for a refund that would also come as a voucher, but hopefully with new expiry dates...

I used a voucher with 2021 expiration date for travel in 2022. I paid a little bit more (approx €15) for the additional flexibility. Subsequently cancelled in December 2022 and was issued a new voucher for the full amount expiration March 2024. Not a guarantee by any means, but a decent data point, and definitely worth paying a few extra €s for the change flexibility.

Yes, I believe there is a fare option that guarantees a refund as a voucher.

Good data point.
