Can't reach Iberia
Made online business class booking but unable select seats. When inputting API, get to the end and it does not take. Have tried phoning Iberia repeatedly but can't get through. Suggestions?

Depending on how far into the future we're talking, you might not be able to choose seats anyhow.

I am dealing with the same thing, except in Premium Economy...in the past, you used to be able to enter your confirmation on Qantas' website, and be able to select seats, but that no longer works. I've been trying to call Iberia for the last two weeks, as well as contact them via Twitter..no dice yet.

I do not know if it is more ridiculous that BA has you wait 1 hour+ to talk to someone or IB hanging up on you after 3-4 minutes every time... |

Iberia Airlines customer service representative hung up
We cannot get Iberia on the phone. The automated system just disconnects the call. We have been trying for weeks, but have never spoken with human being.
We finally reached a live customer service representative for Iberia Airlines this morning by calling +34 900 111 500 and requesting to speak in English. A pleasant lady came on the line eventually, took our information, confirmed our information, and said she had to check with the back office to confirm the type of tickets and whether they were refundable. [The tickets are refundable; we have the email confirmation to prove it.]. The lady put us on hold. Then the line went dead. We have not been able to get back through. |
Bump.
When I try to enter my AA membership on the Iberia Express website I get "This field only accepts numbers". The Iberia phone line hangs up after three minutes. |

If you are booking Iberia Express flights under an I2 flight code, I think your AA number is irrelevant. IIRC you must book an IB flight number to have Oneworld benefits apply to Iberia Express.

I was finally able to get through to Iberia and get my seats assigned...after over 1 month of trying multiple times per day on the US number (even at very off-peak late hours), I decided to credit my Skype account and try some of their other international numbers. I was able to get through on the UK number at +44 20 3684 3774; however, after over 30 minutes of speaking with someone who barely had an elementary understanding of the English language, she could not get my seats to "assign" due to not being able to properly complete entry of my email address for purchasing my seat assignments (yeah, I had to purchase them even though they were supposed to be included with my ticket). Anyway, the whole process was extremely tedious, and I would literally get put on hold anywhere from 20 seconds to 5 minutes in between telling her my first name, last name, street address, etc. Once the 'email issue' came about, I got put back on hold and then lost the connection
After that, I decided to try one more time, and called the Spanish number that Iberia claims to have available 24/7 per their English Twitter feed. After a few tries, I managed to get connected to someone who spoke at least intermediate English, and repeated the same process over again, including all of the constant holds (perhaps that is their strategy? Have one person juggle 10 callers at once rather than one at a time to reduce initial pick-ups on the calls???)...anyway, finally got my seats assigned, but ended up being put in the incorrect row. After all of this, I said screw it, good enough for now -- I just needed to have seats assigned so I can fill out my SpTH form. Godspeed to the rest of you that are having to deal with this mess...but I think your best luck will be via calling one of their international numbers to at least get someone on the phone... |

What time zone is the Iberia US phone number even in? It says "Lt." and I can find no such time zone. Is it local time? Local to Spain or the US for the US phone number?
They say they're open 8:00 - 24:00 Lt. Monday to Sunday. I've also called at various odd times in which they'd be closed if Lt. was either Spanish time or US East Coast time, and there's never any indication that they're closed. It justs puts me on hold for a couple minutes then hangs up on me. |
Same issue.....
Reached out via phone and after a hold, a message comes on and says they're busy and disconnects me..... DM'ed on Twitter. No response..... All I want is to be able to assign seats and request meals.... |
Two of the three times I've gotten through to them recently on the U.S. number have been before 8 a.m. Eastern time. This morning I explained the issue and when the agent put me on hold to look into it, I was cut off. The issue was, after cancelling a booking, I got an email saying DEAR PASSENGER YOUR REFUND COULD NOT BEEN PROCESSED[sic].
It was an award booking that should allow a refund with a fee; I'd like to understand what the issue was. I could guess that it involved the card for the original money part of the booking having changed to a different flavor of Chase card, although it's still a valid number, but that's just a guess. |
